Horrible Golden City pitch affected Hearts tactics – Kosta Papic

Hearts of Oak coach, Kosta Papic is surprised at the nature of the Golden City Park pitch on which his side played against Berekum Chelsea on Saturday.

The teams failed to score in the match-day ten fixture, as they both recorded their fourth draw this season.

Papic did not hide his disappointment with the turf but added that alone should not be an excuse for the stalemate.

The Serbian gaffer claims his lads played like they needed a draw.

“The nature of the ground [pitch] caused us to change the way we normally play but that is not an excuse.

“My players played the game like they don’t want to win. If we are going to win the league we must win games like these.

“We are going to have to talk about this,” he said during the post-match interview.

“I don’t know what is happening. It looks like my players didn’t want to win this game and they focused on getting a draw.”

The Phobians are second on the league standings and await results from the Kotoko, Wafa and Bechem games to know their fate in the top-four.

Great Olympics is next on their fixture schedule.
