Anim Cudjoe goal fires Legon Cities to win over Inter Allies

The Royals have now recorded their third win in 11 matches.

A Matthew Anim Cudjoe first-half strike made the difference for Legon Cities as they beat Inter Allies 1-0 on match-day 11 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The Royals now have recorded three wins this season; 5-2 against AshantiGold and 1-0 pipping of WAFA.

The match-day eleven fixture had both teams playing well enough but it was Cities who utilised their chance early on.

In the 12th minute, Anim Cudjoe received a pass from Baba Mahama and went past two markers before hitting home to give his side the only goal of the game.

Allies struggled to have the lead and it continued even in the second half.

Frustration set in too and it led to Allies skipper Hashmin Musah receiving a second yellow card for a tackle on Anim Cudjoe just on the hour mark.

Down to ten men, the home side could no longer threaten Cities up front.

Allies will have to improve their poor record. They lie last on the league standings and need a redemption in the last six matches of the first round.

They begin that quest against Asante Kotoko in Accra Wednesday night.

Cities are now out of the relegation zone and will play Karela United on match-day twelve.
