Annor Walker: Olympics coach rues defeat at Liberty

Great Olympics coach, Annor Walker has been left ruing his side’s defeat to Liberty Professionals on match-day five of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The Dade Boys fell to a 2-0 loss to the Scientific Soccer Lads at the Carl Reindorf Park on Sunday which has left Annor Walker worried.

“It’s unfortunate we lost this match at Dansoman because it is not a match that we should lose.

“But clearly we can see what happened and I take what happens in my life, it’s one of those things.

“So I have accepted this defeat in a good faith,” the trainer said.

“You saw the game we were playing – ten against eleven. They were not coming until they had their second goal.

“We played all the football with ten men but unfortunately we did not have the clear chances to score goals.

“I think it is something that has happened and it’s a painful defeat,” Walker added.

Great Olympics had to play with 10 men in the second half after captain Maxwell Abbey Quaye received his marching orders for a second bookable offence during first-half stoppage time.

Simon Appiah Asamoah scored both goals for Liberty in the 27th and 76th minutes respectively – receiving assists from Abraham Wayo.
