#GPLwk5: Inter Allies stunned at home by Bechem

Inter Allies suffered their first home defeat in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League after going down 2-1 to Bechem United Wolves at the Accra Sports Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The match-day 5 tie had both sides creating some decent chances with Inter Allies looking more purposeful in front of goal but the first 45 minutes ended in a barren stalemate.

Back from the break, the visitors opened the score from an expertly converted penalty by skipper Moro Salifu in the 51st minute.

Inter Allies got awakened by Bechem’s’ goal and began to string some good passes forward.

The energy paid off in the 62nd minute when Richmond Lamptey was brought down in the Bechem United goal area.

Paul Abanga was on hand to slot home the penalty for Inter Allies’ equalizer in the 64th minute.

Bechem United nearly went ahead in the 81st minute but Allies goalkeeper Rashid Seidu saved the situation for the hosts by parrying a dangerous ball away for a corner kick.

The corner kick resulted in Bechem United’s winner with striker Hafiz Kokoni heading the lofted ball into the back of the net in the 83rd minute.

The Hunters held on to the 2-1 lead to bag their first away win this season.

Inter Allies have now lost three matches, won one and drawn one in five matches. They have 4 points.
