Serbian Milovan Cirkovic to coach AshantiGold

AshantiGold are appointing Serbian Milovan Cirkovic as new head coach.

The position had been made vacant recently by the departure of Italian Roberto Landi.

Cirkovic is expected to arrive in Ghana on Monday after agreeing in principle to take up the Miners job for a two-year period.

He has been without a job since January 2019 after leaving the Thailand national team where he worked as assistant to former Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac.

Cirkovic once worked on the African coninent some nine years ago – as coach of Tanzanian giants Simba SC.

Assistant coach Thomas Duah had been hoolding the fort since the head coach position became vacant and will revert to his role when the Serb takes over the reins.

AshantiGold, aside aiming at the Ghana Premier League title and FA Cup in the upcoming 2020/21 domestic football season, will also be competing in the 2020/21 Caf Confederation Cup.
