Dreams FC recorded a dramatic 2-1 win over Medeama SC in their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day two fixture at Dawu Park Sunday afternoon.
Substitute Issah Ibrahim’s spot-kick in the 89th minute left coach Samuel Boadu’s charges dejected in a match that seemed like a point in the bag from a difficult ground.
Top marksman Joseph Esso opened the scoring after capitalizing on a defensive howler by Ibrahim Yaro to open the scoring in the 14th minute.
After conceding, Medeama urged for the equalizer but failed till half time.
The second half began in a similar fashion with Dreams playing a huge part in the attacking play as their opponents did. End to end action was the other of the day.
Medeama finally netted their equalizer through Kwadwo Asamoah after some neat play from midfield.
As the match approached full time, Ibrahim Yaro brought Joseph Esso down in the box for a penalty.
And Issah Ibrahim – who had come on for Emmanuel Ocran – elected himself and cooly slotted past Eric Ofori Antwi. 2-1.
