Kotoko vs Nouadhibou: Konadu plots to tame star man Hemeya Tanji

Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu is mapping up a plan to destroy the threat of Nouadhibou talisman Hemeya Tanji in the second leg of their 2020/21 Caf Champions League preliminary round clash in Ghana.

The Porcupines recorded a 1-1 draw in Nouadhibou on Sunday after Osman Ibrahim’s 5th-minute goal was cancelled by Hemeya’s spot-kick in the 22nd minute.

“They have some skillful players I must be honest. Hemeya Tanji is a wonderful player.

“He is the man we have to watch come next Saturday so we can work around him and play him out of the game so we can have our day.”

The draw against Nouadhibou FC means Kotoko under Maxwell Konadu this season are yet to record a win in a competitive fixture.

Forward Kwame Opoku has netted twice and the goal by Osman Ibrahim in Mauritania on Sunday names the two as the only scorers so far.
