Joseph Esso is best player in GPL – Dormon declares

Dreams FC trainer Winfred Dormon believes forward Joseph Esso is the best player in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

“Just as I said earlier, he is the best player in the Premier League and he always steps up to prove that,” Dormon said after his side’s loss to Karela United

Joseph Esso scored to give Dreams FC an early lead in the 36th minute – his second goal of the season after scoring last weekend in the 2-1 win against Medeama SC.

But the lead lasted for three minutes as Franklyn Osei levelled with a delightful freekick to level for the host

The midfielder again scored on the 65th minute to hand Karela United the lead and eventually held on to secure the win.

Despite the loss, Dormon further asserted that Esso is living up to expectations.

“It’s good to see him score and live up to expectations. A goal from him is gradually taking pressure off him and I will always encourage him to do more,’ he added.

Dreams now shift their attention to the next game against Legon Cities at the Dawu Park on Sunday.

Dormon wants a good reaction from his lads.

“I am expecting a reaction from the boys against Legon Cities and I know we are going to carry the day.

“We had a lot of chances in the first half which we should have buried the game. It’s worrying but I believe in my boys to deliver against Legon Cities.”
