#GPLwk1: Aduana will beat Hearts to start title defence – Yahaya Mohammed

Titleholders Aduana Stars will defeat Hearts of Oak to start the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) on good footing, team captain Yahaya Mohammed has assured.

The “Ogya” boys host the Phobians at NAB 1 Stadium in the first game of the season on November 14.

Hearts have quite a good record in Dormaa over the years but the 32-year-old believes the story will change this time.

“We are very ready for the league.

“Last season, we were contenders for the title until COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the league.

“We are preparing to win the league. If you have to win the league, it starts from your first game and we will start by beating Hearts of Oak in our first game.

“Hearts is a big club and if you beat them in your first game, it tells you you are on course to doing something.

“Any little mistake against Hearts, you will be punished so we have corrected all mistakes we made last season and I can assure that Hearts will lose in Dormaa,” the experienced forward told Topical Radio of Germany.

Yahaya Mohammed has an impressive domestic career having played for Asante Kotoko and currently Aduana Stars for several years.

He is expected to add stability to the already rich Aduana Stars squad.
