Fabio Gama: I want to be champion in Ghana and Africa with Kotoko

New Asante Kotoko midfielder Fabio Gama is targeting laurels with the Ghanaian giants on both domestic and continental fronts.

The Brazilian – who last played for Swedish side Jönköpings Södra IF – was signed on a free transfer in October.

Gama, however, arrived in Ghana on Monday to kick-start life with the Porcupines in the 2020/21 season.

Speaking on his amibtions, the 28-year-old said:

“…I want to be a champion here. I didn’t come here just to play but to a winner; to win the Premier League title and Caf Champions League with Asante Kotoko.”

“I can now play 15, 20, 30 minutes for the mean time and hope to be fit to help my teammates have a great season,” he added.

Fabio Gama is expected to help the Reds in attacking midfield; an area where Kotoko has been lacking quality.

In their first league game, the team struggled to break through the 5-man midfield of Eleven Wonders and could only manage a 1-1 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Fabio Gama began training with his new teammates on Wednesday and is not expected to be ready for their match-day two visit to Berekum Chelsea in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
