AshantiGold 0-0 Salitas: Milovan Cirkovic disappointed with result, aims victory in Burkina Faso

Ashantigold coach Milovan Cirkovic is aiming for a better result in their Caf Confederation Cup second leg game against Salitas after a poor first leg showing in Obuasi on Sunday.

The Miners were held to a goalless stalemate at the Len Clay Sports Stadium in their maiden continental outing this season.

Despite the efforts upfront led by Hans Kwofie, Salitas produced a resolute defence to complete their ambission of a clean sheet before the next game at home.

Cirkovic, speaking after the game, believes his outfit were not lucky upfront and hopes for an improved performance in Burkina Faso.

“We forced well upfront and deserved to win the game. It’s disappointing that we couldn’t score.

“But the game is still open and we will do our best to qualify in Burkina Faso.”

Ashantigold were knocked out of the Caf Confederation Cup last season by RS Berkane at the last stop before the group stages.

Elimination at this early stage will not sit well with fans and management of the team.
