VIDEO: Emma Boateng scores but Acheampong’s Teda advance in CSL playoffs

Ghana striker Emmanuel Boateng scored as Dalian Pro beat Tianjin Teda 2-1 in the reverse of their 2020 Chinese Super League relegation playoffs tie on Saturday.

Liangmin Lin shot the visitors into the lead after 21 minutes of play at the Dalian Sports Centre Stadium.

Boateng, who only returned from injury in the first leg clash, scored a minute from halftime break to gibe Rafa Benitez’s side a 2-0 goal lead, ensuring Dalian go level – 2-2 on aggregate.

Yue Song, however, halved the deficit in the 78th minute to ensure Tianjin Teda will progress to the next stage of the playoffs despite losing the game 2-1.

Boateng scored on the day but compatriot and Tianjin Teda captain Frank Acheampong’s two precious goals in the first leg ensured they won the tie 3-2 on aggregate.
