Bakai nets twice on injury return

Striker Selassie Bakai grabbed a brace on his injury return as Kabwe Warriors beat Lusaka City 2-0 in a pre-season exercise.

Bakai, who lasted 90 minutes, netted in each half at the Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka on Saturday.

The former Hearts of Oak striker was sidelined for three weeks with a shoulder injury but returned to the side after full recovery.

He joined Kabwe Warriors from rivals Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy on a two-year deal earlier last month.

The 20-year-old, after leaving Hearts on mutual grounds, initially spent nine months with KYSA in a bid to help them fight relegation but the league was truncated due to COVID-19.

The Zambian FA is yet to announce dates for the resumption of the domestic league as government is yet to lift ban on sports.
