Arsenal captain Aubameyamg hails ‘important’ Thomas Partey

Thomas Partey’s quality has convinced Arsenal captain Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang on the team’s pursuit for success this season.

The Gunners hope for a top-four finish in the Premier League, look to defend the FA Cup crown and win the Europe League and Carabao Cup as well.

After seeing Partey in training and in three games so far, the club skipper has high hopes the Ghanaian star will improve Arsenal’s play.

“He’s very strong physically, but he’s also so good on the ball. That surprised me. He is going to be a very important player for the team.

“We really didn’t have a profile like this in our team before,” Aubameyang told Arsenal’s media.

“In terms of the progression of the ball, beating the rivals, moving forward, will be very important for us,” added the Gabonese player.

“Thomas has been great since he joined the club. He has integrated very well into the team. He is friendly, calm and smiling.

“On the pitch, we have already seen what he will bring to the games.”

“My family is from Gabon, but I also have some roots in Ghana, where Thomas is from, so we are family too,” the Gabon forward concluded.

Arsenal will play Dundalk at the Emirates Stadium in their next Europa League match on Thursday evening.
