Ian Wright: Aubameyang’s contract extension will be Arsenal’s biggest deal

Arsenal legend, Ian Wright says the Gunners will make the best deal if club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang renews his contract.

The FA Cup winners have so far snapped up Brazilian duo Willian on a free and Gabriel Magalhaes in a reported £27 million deal.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is looking out for a maximum of two more new signings ahead of the September 12 Premier League kick-off.

However, it is the 31-year-old Gabon striker’s contract renewal all Arsenal fans are looking out for and Wright, speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain stated:

“To be honest, I think he will be the most significant signing Mikel can make.

“We do need to make that happen, simply because of what he brings to that team. When you look at the chances created for Arsenal, they were 6th in the league last year – and he still scored the number of goals he scored.

“So if you can imagine, we can start creating more with the players we have signed – the Willians and people like that – then he is going to score more goals. It is imperative that he signs.”

Arsenal will play in next season’s UEFA Europa League after lifting the English FA Cup.
