Prince Ampem suffers opening day defeat with Sibenik

Young Ghanaian forward, Prince Ampem saw full time as HNK Sibenik slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Rijeka in the Croatia First League on Saturday.

The 22-year-old gave a good account of himself but could not save his side from an opening day defeat at the Stadion HNK Rijeka.

Sibenik rather shocked the home side after taking the lead through Marko Bulat in the 9th minute.

A determined Sibenik held on to the slim lead before giving away in the dying embers of the game.

Sterling Yateke scored for Rijeka in the 84th minute to level the game.

With just added time to play, Rijeka found the winner from the boot of Robert Muric for their first three opening day points.

Prince Ampem joined HNK Sibenik from Ghana Premier League side WAFA SC.
