Thomas Boakye scores as Ghana trio shine in Halmstads win

Ghana midfielder, Thomas Boakye found the net as Halmstads BK outscored Västerås SK in a five-goal thriller in the Swedish Superettan on Wednesday.

The former Right to Dream Academy midfielder scored the first goal as early as the 3rd minute with an assist from fellow Ghanaian Sadat Karim.

Halmstads gave away the lead when Västerås SK equalized in the 17th minute through Karwan Safari.

Back from the break, Halmstads BK Samuel Kroon made the game 2-1 from the spot in the 51st minute.

The lead was shortlived as Västerås SK pulled parity again courtesy Brian Span in the 71st minute.

Sadat Karim provided yet another assist, this time for Sierra Leonean international Alhassan Kamara to settle the game at 3-2 for Halmstads BK.

Thomas Boakye and Swedish footballer of Ghanaian descent, Joseph Baffo played full time while Sadat Karim saw 89 minutes of action.

Both Sadat Karim and Thomas Boakye were yellow-carded in the 31st and 89th minutes respectively.
