Joseph Aidoo shines as Celta Vigo hold Barcelona

Ghana international, Joseph Aidoo was in a fantastic form as Celta Vigo played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Barcelona in the LaLiga on Saturday.

The Black Stars defender, who has been pivotal in Celta Vigo’s backline, played the entire game at Abanca Balaidos.

It was Barcelona who took the lead the game in the 20th minute after a Lionel Messi free-kick was turned in by striker Luis Suarez.

Celta Vigo however managed to contain the Catalonians’ onslaught until the end of the first half.

The hosts returned in the second well psyched by their manager Oscar Garcia.

The pep talk helped fetch Celta’s equalizer after Fedor Smolov slotted home Okay Yokuslu’s assist on the 50th minute.

Barcelona went ahead once more from the boot of Luis Suarez who picked up a ball from Messi on the 67th minute.

The struggling title holders were punished for their wastefulness when Iago Aspas swept in a sublime free-kick to snatch a draw for Celta Vigo at home.

The 2-2 draw pushes Celta Vigo away from the relegation zone to 16th with 34 points from 32 matches.
