I have no regrets playing for Hearts and Kotoko – Kalilu Dramani

Ex-Ghana defender, Kalilu Dramani says he has no regrets featuring for the country’s two biggest clubs – Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.

Dramani is one of the few players to have played for both clubs during his hay days.

The retired footballer in an interview with Akoma FM stated that the two clubs have done his career and personality a lot of good.

“I have never regretted playing for Hearts and Kotoko in my football career.”

“I never travelled to play abroad but I don’t rent an apartment and it is because of playing for Hearts and Kotoko.”

“A lot of players travelled to play abroad but most of them are renting an apartment.”

“I am still benefiting from playing for Hearts and Kotoko and I can’t say I have regretted at all,” Kalilu stated.

Kalilu Dramani started his career from Tarkwa Gold Stars in Ghana’s Division One football where he endeared himself to the Tarkwa folks.

After some breathtaking display for Tarkwa Gold Stars, he was snapped up by Takoradi based Sekondi Eleven Wise to bolster their squad.

The tough-tackling Dramani caught the eyes of Hearts of Oak who signed him on to strengthen their defence.

After three seasons at Hearts of Oak, he joined bitter rivals Asante Kotoko in a swap deal where he notched some great performances.

The 47-year-old has a record of playing for all the Ghana national teams, U-17, U-20, U-23 and the Black Stars.

He was a member of the Ghana U-23 team which won bronze at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.
