Hearts: Taylor blasts Nyaho-Tamakloe over stance on returnee players

Former Hearts of Oak starman, Charles Taylor has hit out at board member Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe for saying the club is in no rush to sign players who intend to relaunch their careers after failed stints abroad.

In an interview last week, the former Ghana Football Association Chairman revealed that “we [Hearts of Oak] have numerous offers from boys who have been outside the country and they revealed that they are coming home. These include former Hearts of Oak players.”

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe, however, went on to say “the leadership of Hearts of Oak will not just jump to take them but we know they are better. What must be done now is to explain things to these boys that in any profession, you just don’t jump from point one to point million, you start gradually.”

But these comments have riled up Taylor who feels the club is being denied the chance to bolster their squad with these quality players who are returning from foreign leagues and want to have a shot in the Ghana league clubs.

The 2002 Ghana Premier League best player opined Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe’s old-fashioned managerial style is not beneficial to the club and has to exit the club as he sees no progress with his involvement.

“These old administrators whose time is up, they want everyone’s downfall, they don’t want others to attain higher heights. How can he deny someone the chance to play for the club, Is Hearts of Oak for him, they just say anything and when you return fire for fire they will tag you as undisciplined.

“Does he buy a player for Hearts of Oak, he’s capable of collapsing the club. Nyaho-Tamakloe will collapse Hearts because all his utterances are unfortunate,” Taylor stated on Asempa FM Monday.

He went on to question Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe’s contribution to Hearts of Oak financially.

“How much does he contribute to Hearts of Oak, he and his cohorts have become archaic.

“If a player has returned from abroad to relaunch his career, you have to pamper him so he returns to the club.

“I will say it bluntly they can kill me, I am not afraid of them. I don’t even listen to his likes again, because it is annoying. If someone wants to relaunch his career, it’s up to the coach to observe him. How can you deny him that chance? Where should he go?” Taylor queried.

Charles Taylor joined Hearts of Oak from Great Olympics in 2000 and won the Caf Champions League with the Phobians same year. After three seasons, he moved to Asante Kotoko in a controversial transfer between the two rival clubs in Ghana.

He was a member of the Black Stars team that won silver in the maiden edition of the Championship of Africa Nations (CHAN) in Cote d’Ivoire.
