Frederick Acheampong: AshantiGold CEO resigns

AshantiGold Chief Executive Officer, Frederick Acheampong has quit his role at the club.

‘Achee’ as he popularly called took to Twitter to make his decision known to the public but failed to state the reason for his departure.

As a football administrator and journalist, he has decided to end his marriage with the Miners at the end of April after two years.

The Ghana Football Association Executive Council member tweeted:

“End of a golden road. I have tendered in my resignation as C.E.O. of AshantiGold
effective 30th April 2020.

“I have grown and learnt immensely at the club but it’s time to move on for personal reasons. Thanks Champion, the club and supporters for the opportunity,” he added.

During his tenure, AshantiGold won the Normalization Cup Tier II competition and represented Ghana in the 2019/20 Caf Confederation Cup where they were eliminated in the second round by Moroccan outfit RS Berkane.

Frederick Acheampong will, however, continue with his roles as a Caf Match Coordinator, journalist and as member of GFA’s Executive Council.
