#FootyTransfers: Olympics offloading 13 players – GM

Accra Great Olympics are set to release 13 players in the mid-season transfer window, the club’s General Manager Oloboi Commodore has disclosed.

The Accra-based outfit is set to embark on an immense restructuring of their playing body to help them improve upon their performances when the suspension on the 2019/20 Premier League season is lifted.

“Many players will leave the club as we bring in a number of them as well. We have spoken to some clubs and the players we are recruiting are active players who have been scouted. Some of the players are from the country with a couple of them from clubs in West Africa.

“We may have difficulties with finances but we have already scouted the players and they will help us when the season resumes,” Oloboi Commodore confirmed on Angel FM Accra.

Most of the players are rumoured to be senior and experienced members of the squad who haven’t met the standard expected. The identities of the players involved were kept to the chest of the General Manager but tell the players are aware they are departing.

“I cannot mention the names due to the uncertainty of when the season continues but we have told 13 players we are not working with them. 10 new players will be added to the squad, very quality players will join the set up and their names will be made public once we complete talks financially,” Mr Commodore stated.

The ‘Wonder Club’ lie 10th on the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League table, amassing 20 points from their 15 matches played.
