#FootyTransfers: Dreams FC capture Abel Manomey

Dreams Football Club has secured the signature of former Great Olympics striker Abel Manomey.

Manomey, an instinctive goal poacher has agreed to join the ‘Still Believe’ side on a free transfer for two years and makes a return to the Ghana Premier League.

On transfer deadline day for the second window, successful discussions saw Dreams release an official disclosure of Abel Manomey’s inclusion to the squad subject to a mandatory medical.

“Dreams Football Club wishes to announce that the club has officially reached an agreement with striker Abel Manomey for a 2-year contract.

“The ex-Great Olympics forward and GUSA record goalscorer with 39 goals to his name is all set for topflight action with Dreams FC subject to passing the club’s mandatory medical session.

“His addition once completed is expected to be a huge boost for Winfred Dormon’s squad once premier league action returns to normalcy.

“Abel scored 10 goals in 10 matches to grab the headlines of the 2020 GUSA games by becoming the highest scorer for men’s football when he featured for the University of Education, Winneba,” the Dreams FC statement read.

The Ghana Football Association opened the second Transfer Window of the 2019/20 season on the midnight of Monday, March 16, 2020 and closes at midnight of Monday, April 13, 2020.

However, the Executive Council has decided that following the guidelines advisory from FIFA when normalcy is restored the GFA will apply to FIFA to open the window for a period to allow clubs to strengthen their squads.
