Black Queens to face Chile, others at 2020 Turkish Women’s Cup

Ghana’s senior female national team, the Black Queens are set to participate in the fourth edition of the Turkish Women’s Cup slated for March 2-11.

Coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo’s ladies have been invited to join Hungary, Venezuela, Hong Kong, Romania, Northern Ireland B, Kenya and Chile in the 8-nation tournament also known as Alanya Gold City Women’s Cup 2020.

Despite the scanty details on the fixture schedule at the time of this report, Footy-Ghana.com can confirm that the Black Queens will come up against Chile in their opening match in Group B on March 4.

Ghana will, later on, face Kenya and Northern Ireland B to complete the group phase.

The tournament is expected to help Ghana, who have been idle since falling to Kenya in the Tokyo Olympic Games qualifiers, to prepare themselves ahead of the 2020 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying decider later in June.

The Black Queens are expected to move to camp this weekend before emplaning to Europe for the invitational tournament.
