Hearts net ‘just’ GH¢361,449 from GPL Super Clash

The Phobians lost more than half of the gross proceeds generated.

Hearts of Oak realized an amount of GH¢361,449 (about $65,000) as take home from Sunday’s Ghana Premier League Super Clash with arch-rivals Asante Kotoko.

A record gross figure of GH¢726,380 was generated from a reported 33,560 sold tickets for the match-day six fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Tickets had gone at GH¢20 for Popular Stand and Centre Line; GH¢30 – Lower VIP; GH¢50 – Upper VIP and GH¢100 for VVIP seats.

But the Phobians are receiving just 49.76% of the gross proceeds after statutory deductions.

Hearts of Oak lost the game 2-1 to Kotoko courtesy a last-minute penalty converted by Guinean import Naby Laye Keita. Joseph Esso had gotten the hosts bank into the game in the second half by cancelling out Justice Blay’s opener.
