Elmina Sharks and Karela United scored their first goals in the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League as they drew 1-1 on match-day 2 at Nduom Stadium Sunday.
Both sides started the season at the receiving end of defeats last week – Sharks lost 2-0 at Bechem while Karela succumbed 1-0 to WAFA at home.
Karela dominated the early stages of the game and took the lead through Darlington Gyan Fosu who fed on a pass from Franklin Osei after the half-hour mark.
But the visitors could not hold to the lead for long as former Okyeman Planners forward Raphael Ocloo levelled through a rebound in the 41st minute.
Both sides fought hard to snatch the needed winner but to no avail.
Elmina Sharks attacker Benjamin Tweneboah was adjudged man-of-the-match.
Karela United occupy 11th position on the league log with a point while Elmina Sharks languish at 13th with same.
