2019/20 GPL: Inter Allies suffer last-gasp heartbreak at Karela

Inter Allies conceded in injury time to lose 2-1 to Karela United on match-day 3 of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The ‘Eleven Is To One’ had looked like securing a valuable point from their long trip to Akoon Community Park in Tarkwa but Abega Fosu had other ideas as he delivered the sucker punch in the third minute of additional time.

Skipper Victorien Adebayor gave Inter Allies high hopes when he registered his second goal of the season with a rebound after seeing his initial penalty effort blocked by the Karela goalkeeper.

The goal, in the 50th minute, had cancelled out Karela’s lead which came through a powerful drive by Franklyn Osei as early as the 6th minute.

It’s a first win and four points from three games at 9th position for Karela while Inter Allies stay 12th on the log.
