Christopher Nettey: Kotoko sign right-back for three years

Defender Christopher Nettey has completed a three-year switch from Attram De’ Visser Soccer Academy to Asante Kotoko.

The 21-year-old right-back signed his contract on Friday to become coach Maxwell Konadu’s third signing after Sam Adams and Imoro Ibrahim.

“I am very delighted to have signed,” Nettey told the Kotoko Express App.

“It is a dream come true for me, my family and friends who have always believed in my quality and wished to see me playing at the highest level. I am a young man full of ambition and Kotoko is the perfect club for me. I am here to compete for a place, play well and help the team to win laurels. I know that I have a lot to learn and is ready for the experience,” he added.

Christopher Nettey started his career from the Colts football level at Mighty Victory FC in Accra before heading to Attram De’Visser.

The right-footed player, who can perform as a right and left winger in addition to his natural right-back position, was transferred to Great Olympics in 2017 for a season-long loan. He played 11 games before the campaign was truncated following the Anas corruption scandal that hit Ghana football in June 2018.

Though young, Nettey has a lot of gut and he showed that in his impressive debut as he lasted the full 90 minutes in the President’s Cup win over Hearts of Oak last week.
