Young Ghana midfielder Grace Asantewaa has joined EDF Logroño Femenino in the Spanish top-tier.
The move to Spain is the 18-year-old’s first professional deal abroad after excelling on the domestic front in recent seasons.
Asantewaa leaves Ampem Darkoa Ladies with whom she won the league and cup double in 2015-16 and 2016-2017 season. Prior to that, she featured for Hasaacas Ladies.
The impressive teenager has featured in the youth World Cups for Ghana and was promoted to the senior national team – the Black Queens – in 2018. She has since earned six caps and scored twice for the Queens.
Grace Asantewaa follows the footsteps of compatriot and former Ampem Darkoa teammate Princella Adubea in moving to Spain this summer. The striker signed for fellow Liga Iberdrola side Sporting de Huelva in June.
