Ghana striker Caleb Ekuban scored all the goals as Trabzonspor recorded a resounding 3-1 victory away to Greek side AEK Athens in the 2019/20 Uefa Europa League playoffs Thursday night.
Ekuban’s hat-trick at the OAKA Spyros Louis Stadium hands the Turkish top-tier side a healthy advantage in their bid to reach the group stage of the competition.
AEK had taken a 4th-minute lead through Marko Livaja before Ekuban equalized in the 28th minute. The Black Stars forward then completed his treble with strikes in the 44th and 70th minutes.
Trabzonspor will host the second leg in northern Turkey on August 29.
