Algerian Djamel Belmadi has emerged the only African nominated for the Best Fifa Men’s Coach award for 2019.
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations-winning coach, on Wednesday, was listed in a 10-man shortlist for the accolade that recognises the world’s best tacticians in the men’s game.

Belmadi guided the Fennecs to their second-ever Afcon title early this month at the 32nd Afcon finals held in Egypt, going unbeaten in seven games including double victories over Sadio Mane-led Senegal who they at the group stage and in the grand finale.
The ex-Algeria international took up the national team job in August 2018 and has guided them to an impressive 11 wins, 4 draws and one defeat in 16 games.
The winner of the Best Fifa Men’s Coach will be decided by votes from national team coaches and captains in addition to fans and journalists.
Fifa The Best 2019 will be held the city of Milan on September 23.
