#FootyTransfers: Kotoko sign striker Richard Arthur

Striker Richard Arthur has signed for Asante Kotoko barely four days after mutually terminating his contract with Ethiopian giants St. George FC.

The 25-year-old has been a longtime target of the Porcupine Warriors since his days at Ghana Premier League side Wa All Stars.

In April 2017, Arthur had practically joined Kotoko and was even set for his debut but somehow ditched them when Angola’s G.D Interclube came calling. He scored eight times in 13 matches in the Girabola before moving on to Ethiopia in January this year.

The established goal-scorer finally committed himself to a three-year contract on Monday after passing a routine medical examination earlier on in the day, making him the seventh signing of Asante Kotoko who are augmenting the team ahead of the 2019/20 Caf Champions League.

The one-time Ghana Premier League winner, known for his speed, strength and predatory instinct, was the top scorer for Wa All Stars with eight goals when they clinched the Ghana Premier League title in the 2015/16 season.
