#NCSpecial: Karela shock AshantiGold, reach Tier-One final

Fast-rising forward, Charles Diawisie Taylor struck a stoppage-time winner as Karela United upset AshantiGold 1-0 at Len Clay Stadium on Sunday to reach the Normalization Special Cup Tier-One final.

The visitors matched AshantiGold from start and outplayed them for most part of the opening half but no goal was produced.

AshantiGold however came into the picture in the second half when midfield duo Richard Djodi and Joseph Gordon came off the bench.

The Miners began to create chances and came so close when Djodi forced goalkeeper Isaac Hagan into two superb saves within two minutes.

Karela were doggedly determined to keep the hosts at bay and with seconds ticking away in the four minutes additional time, Diawisie Taylor poached the match winner to the shock of AshantiGold.

The goal sees Taylor increase his tournament tally to 10 goals.

Karela United will now face Asante Kotoko in the final.  The Porcupine Warriors defeated Hearts of Oak 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time at the Accra Sports Stadium.
