Kjetil Zachariassen: AshantiGold coach desires more intensity from squad

AshantiGold SC coach Kjetil Zachariassen says his team are yet to reach his preferred level to succeed in all competitions.

After securing a 2-1 home win in his debut game against Berekum Chelsea at the Len Clay Stadium, the Norwegian gaffer insisted on improving the intensity of his side.

Debutant Emmanuel Owusu and Richard Ella Djodi recorded the goals for the home side after Braimah Ali Foster opened the scoring for the visitors.

“I can only talk about the two weeks I have been here as head coach. We are running more than ever and that has been my job. The lads have been digging hard because we want to increase the intensity of our game,” Zachariassen told reporters at the post-match conference.

“That means more running for higher intensity when we run. The players have been under two weeks of hard training and they have responded well.

“The game was as expected and we are not yet there when it comes to the relationship with the players but we are getting somewhere.”

Ashanti Gold SC play Medeama SC in their next fixture on Wednesday before they host giants Asante Kotoko SC on the weekend. Tough games for the former Williamsville FC coach.
