#NCSpecial: Inter Allies fight back to draw 1-1 at WAFA

Inter Allies rallied back to salvage a point on the road against WAFA SC in a hard-fought Ghana FA Normalization Committee Special Competition match-day two clash in Sogakope on Wednesday.

The Academy Boys were hoping to make it two straight wins at home after beating Liberty 3-1 on the opening day.

Inter Allies, however, had something different up their sleeves as they managed to hold the sleek-passing hosts to a non-scoring first half thanks to three great saves by goalkeeper Clement Aryee.

WAFA however found the breakthrough ten minutes into second half with a fine strike from the boot of attacker Kingsford Opoku.

The ‘Eleven Is To One’ Boys responded quickly and got a deserved equalizer when Nigerian attacker Effiong Nsungusi Jnr. turned up at the end of a delightful cross from Paul Abanga to hit home right on the hour mark.

Inter Allies thought they had snatched a late winner in added time when substitute Alex Aso hit the back of the net but the referee ruled that for an offside.

The result grants WAFA four points after two games while their visitors have also drawn twice in their two fixtures.
