#NCSpecial: Goal-shy Dreams held by Sharks

Misfiring Dreams FC failed to win for the third successive home game as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Elmina Sharks to end the first round of the Normalization Special Cup second from bottom in Premier B.

The Still Believe boys went into the game with high hopes of picking all points to breathe life into their campaign which has them losing all three away matches, winning their first home game and then shying away from securing victories in three subsequent fixtures at their favourite Dawu home grounds.

Elmina Sharks also put up a well-rehearsed strategy which paid off with a point.

Juha Pasoja’s charges pinned Sharks to their half with some scary moves but the resolute defensive back-line backed by impressive goalie Attah Mensah denied Dreams from scoring.

After recess, the story was no different as Dreams kept pressuring but the visitors sat back and employed the counter attack tactics.

The contest failed to produce any goal after the referee whistled to end the game.

Sharks’ goalkeeper Attah Mensah, thus, extends his clean sheet record to seven consecutive games in the competition, airing his side to be the only unbeaten club.

Dreams drop to seventh position on the Premier B with 6 points at the end of the first round while Sharks stay fourth on 10 points.
