#NCSpecial: Dwarfs ‘stun’ WAFA to end unbeaten run

An Albert Gaisie goal handed resurgent Ebusua Dwarfs a 1-0 victory over WAFA SC at Cape Coast Stadium on match-day 7 of the Normalization Special Cup.

It was the Academy Boys’ first defeat in the first round of the novelty competition, making them lose hold of first spot on the Premier B standings.

After several incursions into the half of the visitors, the ‘Mysterious Club’ earned a penalty in the 23rd minute.

And Gaisie nicely converted to hand his side the lead.

WAFA’s fightback efforts were thwarted by Dwarfs who fought gallantly to record back-to-back victories after beating Inter Allies away in their previous fixture.

The Crabs, who had lost their opening four games, have managed to halt the poor run since holding Elmina Sharks to a 0-0 draw in a regional derby on match-day 5.

Ebusua Dwarfs now move to sixth position with 6 points while WAFA drops to the second position on 12 points.
