PHOTOS: Okrah watches ex-club Hilal train ahead of Kotoko clash

Ghana midfielder Augustine Okrah paid a visit to his former club Al-Hilal at training ahead of their match day 5 Group C fixture against Asante Kotoko in the 2018/19 Caf Confederation Cup.

Okrah, who, interestingly, also played for Asante Kotoko before heading out abroad, surprised the Sudanese giants with an appearance Friday afternoon just before they held their training session at the Paa Joe Stadium.

Al-Hilal, who are confident of securing a win on Sunday, trained for the first time at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology [KNUST] facility after holding a closed-door session on the astro turf of Hilltop School – Daban near Ahodwo Thursday.

The former Ghana Premier League top-scorer, currently on the books of Indian side NorthEast United but ruled out of action for the season with a knee injury, fraternized with the entire Al-Hilal playing body and technical team before the day’s training session began.

Hilal touched down in Kumasi on Wednesday with a 34-man contingent including 22 players and team officials

Footy-Ghana.com can confirm that all the 22 players were involved in the training as they intensify their preparations ahead of the duel.

They will hold their final training session at the match venue – Baba Yara Stadium at 16:00 GMT on Saturday as mandated by Caf’s rules and regulations.

Augustine Okrah joined Al-Hilal from city rivals Al-Merriekh before mutually terminating his contract with the former in 2017. He won one League title each with Hilal and Merriekh.

Al-Hilal currently lead the Group C with 7 points, one more ahead of Kotoko, who are second on the log.

The game is slated for 16:00 GMT.
