Kotoko’s Yacouba eyes move to Europe

Asante Kotoko striker Songne Yacouba is reportedly set to inform the club to listen to offers from abroad for his services this summer.

The Burkinabe returns to Ghana Thursday afternoon following the international break and is expected to be available for the Porcupine Warriors when they kick off their campaign in the GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition at home to Aduana Stars on Sunday.

According to Oyerepa FM, Yacouba together with his representatives will be meeting the Porcupine Warriors hierarchy to inform them about the player’s desire to move abroad to continue his blistering career once the offer is acceptable.

Both player and club are aware of interests from across the continents – with Sudanese giants Al-Merreikh and Al-Hilal as well as others from Tunisia and Morocco mentioned.

But the Kumasi-based radio station’s report claims Yacouba fancies a move to Europe. He is said to have also attracted interests from clubs in Czech Republic and Portugal.

Songne Yacouba has been fantastic since joining Kotoko before the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League was truncated. He became the club’s marksman following his sublime goals in the few games he played.

He was instrumental in Kotoko’s 2018/19 Caf Confederation Cup campaign – scoring two games and providing some assists in the group stage.
