Kwame Kizito: BK Häcken sign ex-Hearts striker after 14-month wait

Swedish topflight side BK Häcken have finally secured the signing of Ghana striker Kwame Kizito.

It took the yellow-blacks some 14 months to land the signature of the lanky forward.

BK Häcken came in for Kizito when his contract with Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak expired in November 2017 but both clubs failed to reach an agreement over a training compensation fee before the transfer window shut ahead of the 2018 season.

Kizito went on to join Libyan side Al-Ittihad Tripoli where he scored 7 goals in 12 games before abrogating his contract in October 2018.

The 22-year-old free agent arrived in Hisingen Friday and finally sealed his long-awaited move by signing a three-year contract, joining compatriot Nasiru Mohammed on the books of BK Häcken.

“It’s cold here, but I’m very happy to finally be in place,” Kizito said after arriving under heavy snow in Sweden.

“I’ve watched some on YouTube, and I come to a team that plays nice football. I have also had contact with Nasiru Mohammed, who just talked a lot about the club,” he added.

Kwame Kizito described himself as a goal-scorer who, in addition to his speed, is good at creating chances for his teammates.

“I have come here to strengthen the team and of course want to have as much playing time as possible. I want to help the team win many matches, to a good position in the table and win titles,” the Glo-Lamp Academy trainee also noted.
