Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel have confirmed the signing of Ghana youth striker Richard Danso.
The 18-year-old had initially arrived in Tunisia for observation by rivals Club Africain who have been slapped with a transfer ban by Fifa.
Danso, however, gets a chance to experience Tunisian football after impressing Etoile who have now rewarded him a four-and-half-year contract, the Sousse-based club announced Saturday afternoon.
He was a shining spot in the Ghana team at the 2017 Fifa U-17 World Cup in India. Featuring for WAFA SC, Danso was among the top strikers in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League which got truncated at the halfway stage in June last year.
Danso is also a key member of the current Ghana U-20 national team set to feature at the Africa Cup of Nations in Niger next month. It is however unknown if Etoile du Sahel will be willing to release their latest winter signing for the Black Satellites’ U-20 Afcon campaign.
