Hearts boss Grant shuts door on Kwame Kizito

Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Kim Grant has shut the door on any possible return of former striker Kwame Kizito to the club.

The 23-year-old, who forced his exit from the Phobians as a free agent after the end of his contract in 2017, is currently unattached after having his deal with Libyan side Al-Ittihad terminated in October last year.

In an interview earlier this week, Kizito had expressed his readiness to reunite with Hearts once an acceptable offer is put before him.

But that opportunity looks never coming the lanky striker’s way, according to Kim Grant who doubles as the director of football for the Phobians.

“I saw some stories in the media about a possible return but his time is gone.

“He [Kwame Kizito] went to another country and wasn’t successful and now he’s looking for exposure again but unfortunately that exposure is not going to happen. Certainly, he is not joining the team under my watch,” Grant told Atinka TV emphatically.

“I’m the director of football and I control all the transfers. I am in control of who comes in and who goes out. We don’t even have players coming to the training grounds anymore so I can’t expect Pep Guardiola to get somebody from the Man City board to bring a player to come to his training session and that’s not going to happen at Hearts now,” he added.

Kim Grant assumed his Hearts of Oak role at the start of December 2018 and has so far made some key signings including goalkeeper Richmond Ayi, Mohammed Alhassan, Charles McCarthy and Ibrahim Larry Sumaila.
