LETTER: Fabin quits Kotoko

Paa Kwasi Fabin has tendered his resignation from the post of head coach of Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.

Explaining his decision in a signed letter Thursday, Fabin cited “personal conviction” saying “that it is time to bow out due to circumstances beyond my control.”

“Moreover, I deem it right to exit as the league here has been suspended and above all enable my replacement to be able to familiarize with the team and continue with the success chalked so far,” the coach explained.

Fabin took charge of the Porcupine in February on a one-year contract. He kept them at 4th place at the end of the first round of the truncated 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.

Our sources however indicate that the coach jumped the ship after being hinted of his impending sack by the club’s management.

Read Fabin’s resignation letter in full:

I write without any malice to inform you that I am tendering my resignation as the Head Coach of your club Asante Kotoko Football Club. Effective 13th September 2018, this decision has become necessary because of my personal conviction that it is time to bow out due to circumstances beyond my control. Moreover, I deem it right to exit as the league here has been suspended and above all enable my replacement to be able to familiarize with the team and continue with the success chalked so far.

I want to thank the Executive Chairman for giving me the opportunity to work with him, the management team, the playing body and the supporters for their encouragement during the rough times.

To those that we had disagreements and misunderstanding I say it is part of the job.

Once again, thank you for the opportunity.

Yours faithfully,

Signed

Samuel Kwasi Fabin
