Ghana coach Yusif Basigi has finalized his squad of 21 for the ninth edition of the Fifa Under-20 Women’s World Cup slated for France from August 5-24, 2018.

The nucleus of the Black Princesses squad is formed by as many as 11 members of the Ghana’s U-17 team which featured at the World Cup in Jordan two years ago. The likes of Joyce Asamoah, Linda Amoako, Grace Asantewaa, Grace Acheampong, Rafia-Alhassan Kulchirie, Cecilia Hagan, Olivia Anokye, Philicity Asuako, Matha Koffie Annan, Blessing Shine Agbomadzi and Sandra Owusu Ansah have over the period graduated to the Ghana U-20 side and qualified the country to the France 2018 World Cup.

Also, Owusu Ansah and Ernestina Abambila are two members of coach Basigi’s squad who have experienced the U-20 World Cup, having been part of the Black Princesses team at the 2016 edition in Papua New Guinea.

Ghana is however without top striker Princella Adubea who hit double figures in the qualifiers. She is currently recovering from a knee injury.

The Black Princesses find themselves in Group A of the World Cup. Ghana play hosts France on August 5 before facing the Netherlands and New Zealand on August 8 and 12 respectively.
