Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan may not have gauged the mood of his followers well in this Anas exposé period on corruption in Ghana football when he took to Twitter to rally support for the team ahead of their international assignment against Iceland.
The senior national team will play the Boys tonight at the Laugardalsvollur.
Gyan, in a ‘harmless’ post, replying to journalist Juliet Bawuah’s tweet on the match, expressed worry that the Black Stars have been relegated to the background as the talk around the alleged corruption revelations now dominate discussions.
It’s soo sad our national team is playing and we not even talking about it. We have forgotten football took Ghana where we are today. Now everything in Ghana is about politics. Smh
