Kwadwo Asamoah wins sixth Serie A title with Juve

Ghana’s Kwadwo Asamoah made it his sixth as Juventus officially sealed their seventh consecutive league title after managing a 0-0 draw against Roma on Sunday.

The 28-year-old however did not feature as he was left rooted to the bench watching Brazilian Alex Sandro take play the left-back role for the entire duration of the penultimate game of the 2017/18 Serie A season at Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.

The Scudetto race this season has been tagged the toughest – filled with excitement up until the end, having offered a title race where two teams went head-to-head, taking turns in leading the standings. After Napoli failed to deliver under pressure, decisively losing against Fiorentina, while Juventus came back from being 2-1 behind against Inter in a matter of minutes, the race for once lost its flair.

Napoli had effectively handed the title to the Bianconeri after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Torino last weekend, which left Juve all-but mathematically guaranteed another crown.

Needing just a point at Stadio Olimpico, Juventus picked up the draw required to confirm a 34th Scudetto.

Going into the final game of the season at home to Verona on Sunday May 20, Kwadwo Asamoah has made 19 league appearances in this campaign with one assist.

Kwadwo Asamoah, who has won the double this season, has been heavily rumoured to leave Juventus at the end of the season.
