Asante Kotoko managed a 1-1 stalemate against Liberty Professionals in their 2017/18 ZylofonCash Premier League matchday 14 clash at the Carl Reindorf Park on Wednesday.
The Porcupines recovered from a disappointing start after former Kotoko defender Edwin Tuffour Frimpong granted Liberty an early lead on the 14th minute with a penalty.
It has just been about a fortnight since the left full-back completed his transfer from Kotoko to Liberty and he showed no signs of nervousness as he brilliantly scored from the spot.
Kotoko responded impressively with some fine attacking display and were awarded a penalty kick on the 22nd minute and skipper Amos Frimpong beautifully completed the opportunity. Both sides hardly proved to take the lead and the encounter ended 1-1 at half time,
In the second half, both teams huffed and puffed, with Liberty having lots of possession, but could hardly find the winner.
The Scientific Soccer Lads came close at the dying embers of the game but the quality of away team goalie Felix Annan proved a huge block for the Accra based club as the duel ended with no change from the first half outcome. 1-1.
Liberty midfielder Simon Zibo claimed the NASCO Man of the Match award. He has been exceptional for his side despite their bad run and once again, he delivered for the Soccer Lads.

The result means Kotoko remain fifth on the league table while Liberty are 11th with 16 points.
