Ghana arrive Tokyo for Japan friendly

Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars have arrived in Tokyo for their international friendly against the Samurai Blue of Japan. 

The Black Stars play Japan on Wednesday at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama as part of their preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers while the Asian giants also gear up for the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.

Coach Kwasi Appiah named a 21-man squad for the game against Japan. The team spent a week training in Accra with most of the players absent but will meet the rest of the squad in Tokyo.

Ghana missed the World Cup but have began Afcon qualifiers on a bright note after thrashing Ethiopia 5-0 in Kumasi.

After the Japan clash, the team will next face Iceland in another friendly on June 7 at the Laugardalsvöllur .

Head Coach Kwasi Appiah wants to build a formidable team ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019.
