WATCH: Inter Allies crash to fifth defeat at AshGold

AshantiGold recorded a 1-0 victory against inconsistent Inter Allies at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium on match day 9 of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.

The Obuasi-based side started well with early incursions by the skillful Richard Djodi and Shafiu Mumuni as Inter Allies were forced to display more defensive performance, keeping the score at 0-0.

But the results could not stand for long as left full-back Roland Amouzou connected beautifully with Richard Djodi and perfectly smashed a fine shot through the legs of Inter Allies goalie Kwame Baah on 14 minutes. The Miners were now cruising to their first win in three games.

The first half ended with the Capelli Boys failing to utilize their clear cut chances. AshantiGold continued to dominate proceedings in the second half but Kwame Baah kept the result at 1-0 despite Shafiu Mumuni’s dangerous efforts.

AshGold held onto their lead with possessive play till full time. They now extend their lead on the league log with 17 points while Inter Allies, after their fifth defeat this season, lie 4th with 12 points ahead of the remaining matchday 9 fixtures on Sunday and Monday.

The Miners’ attacker Godfred Asiamah won the NASCO Man of the Match award.
