SuperClash: Kotoko could unleash Yacouba Songnè on Hearts

Asante Kotoko are set to finally unleash former Stade Malien attacker Yacouba Songnè when they host arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in their first Superclash in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors have had the Burkinabe international training since pre-season but paper works denied them using him in their first nine games of the season.

But he is available now following the arrival of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and his immediate registration in the just opened second transfer window.

Yacouba becomes the 31st registered player by Kotoko in the ongoing campaign and has taken up the same shirt number – 31.

He is expected to bring more goals to the misfiring frontline of coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s side – they have scored 8 in nine games.

Ahead of Sunday’s matchday 10 clash with Hearts, Kotoko are further boosted by the availability of star players Kwame Boahen and Sadick Adams – who had been out with injury for long spells.

Playmaker Baba Mahama is however unavailable for the Phobians’ visit.

Both Kotoko and Hearts have chalked inconsistent results so far but the Porcupines have amassed more points after nine games. Kotoko are on 14 points while Hearts have 11.
